Volunteer with us

Our Collection and Sale events run on volunteers. You can volunteer individually or with a student organization.

Volunteering with a student organization

Your club can make fundraising money for each volunteer hour completed. Just make sure to sign up with your student organization when you register and check in for your shift.

Volunteering FAQ

Who can volunteer?

Volunteers can sign up as an individual or on behalf of a Northeastern student group.

Will I get paid?

Individual volunteers are unpaid. When individuals volunteer on behalf of a student group, each hour they volunteer earns the group money.

How can I find out about volunteer opportunities?

Join our e-list and be sure to select the option for fundraising/volunteering updates.

How do student organizations get the money?

Funds are distributed to student groups through their Northeastern SABO account after the corresponding Sale event.

How much money will our student organization earn?

The more hours your group volunteers, the more money your group can earn. We guarantee a minimum of $10 per hour. The exact amount is determined after the corresponding Sale event occurs; the more successful the Sale is, the more profit we make to distribute amongst volunteers.

What do volunteers do?

Collection volunteers check bins, move donated items to our storage rooms, sort and weigh donations, pack them away for storage, and advertise the event. Sale volunteers move items from storage to the event space, execute line management and customer support, and run the info desk and check-out stations.
